I currently have an ice witch, sea magician dude and white wizard, aswell as one not insane tier 2 necromancer.

Is there anything I'm missing or would it be best to for now keep using him in battles with his spells that wipe out single tile pale ones in a single cast, and then become a demilich once I have trained up some of my apprentices and other spellcasters?

It seems like I'd lose a lot of power in battle by doing so, since a demilich apparently can't reliably move around on the map anymore. Now I took over the Capitolium and became a Lich and I'm wondering if it is worthwhile to immediately become a Demilich. So I just recently picked the game up and went for a necromancer in the empire start.
